Interviewing Niki Mosier

Welcome to a new Weekly Interviews edition where we interview brilliant women in our industry and share their stories with the world! Anyone is welcome to share their story by simply filling this form, we encourage women from all walks of life in our industry to do so.

Introducing Niki Mosier, Head of SEO at Two Octobers - soon to join AgentSync as Head of SEO & Content. Based in Denver, USA - Niki loves both technical and local SEO. When she's not behind a computer, you can find her playing an old school Mario game, learning to fly fish or exploring Colorado with her partner and dog.

We asked her everything from how she first got into SEO to what empowers her to be the brilliant woman she is 💪🏽

How did you get into SEO?

I started out doing SEO when I was customizing WordPress websites for clients. Clients wanted to know how people could find their websites on the internet.

What is your favourite SEO task?

My favorite SEO task is either Google My Business optimization or log file analysis.

What is your go-to tool or resource that you can't live without?

ScreamingFrog and Excel...sorry two.

What is something you learned in SEO that made you have an 'AHA' moment?

I think my biggest AHA moment happened when I realized the impact that internal links can have on traffic and visibility.

What is your proudest industry achievement?

My proudest moment was completing Shine Speaker Bootcamp and getting speaking gigs at SMX West and BrightonSEO.

What advice would you give women who are starting out in SEO?

There IS space in this industry for everyone. Find the area that you like and dive in. Don't be afraid to ask questions. There are so many people willing to help.

Give a shout out to a woman in the industry who inspires you and tell us why

Carolyn Lyden and Sarah Gurbach are definitely two of my rocks in this space. Find amazing, smart, strong women that you can bounce ideas off of, vent to and trust to give you good advice.

Finally, what empowers you to be the brilliant woman you are?

"Be the change you wish to see in the world". For me, I try to live this out professionally by sharing knowledge in the industry and at work. Personally, I try to live this out through my actions in my community.
